Another Gouden Film for the Splendid Film B.V. theater lineup

„De Film von Rutger Thomas & Paco 2“ is a hit and is getting a third installment!

(Cologne/Amsterdam 7. July 2026) – This trio is a true audience favorite for the whole family - Rutger Vink, Thomas van Grinsven, and their faithful four-legged friend Paco, together with Splendid Film B.V., can celebrate another milestone! Their latest film, “De Film van Rutger Thomas & Paco 2,” has - just like the first installment - drawn more than 100,000 viewers to Dutch theaters and has thus been awarded a “Gouden Film.” With this prestigious award, the Dutch Film Festival (supported by the Netherlands Film Fund, among others) honors Dutch films that sell more than 100,000 movie tickets.  For the third time in just a few months, Splendid Film B.V. has thus succeeded in winning the prestigious award for its successful Dutch film releases - in addition to “Amsterdamned II,” the latest installment in the Juf Braaksel series - “Juf Braaksel en de Mysterieuze Verdwijning” - is also among the award winners. 

The first installment of “De Film van Rutger Thomas & Paco” drew more than 300,000 moviegoers in the Netherlands and Belgium last year. In this latest adventure, Rutger and Thomas are once again swept up in an absurd and comical series of events when their dog Paco suddenly turns into a cat. It quickly becomes clear that there’s more to it than meets the eye: someone seems determined to turn all dogs into cats. What follows is a fast-paced race against time - full of humor, disguises, and chaos - in which the friends do everything they can to save Paco and the other dogs.

The success of the first two installments of “De Film van Rutger Thomas & Paco” has left audiences wanting more, prompting Splendid Film B.V. to announce that a third installment in the film series is officially in development.
